PUTRAJAYA: July 10, 2026 – The government has maintained the retail prices of petrol and diesel for the period of July 9 to 15, 2026, following global crude oil price trends which continue to show a moderating pattern.

The Ministry of Finance (MOF), in a statement, announced that based on the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM) formula, the unsubsidised retail prices for the period remain at RM4.00 per litre for RON97, RM3.37 per litre for RON95, and RM3.97 per litre for diesel.

According to the ministry, the moderation in global crude oil prices is driven by a reduction in geopolitical risk premiums, recovery in supply flows, and increased price competition among major producing nations.

However, the MOF stated that recent developments in West Asia, including new US strikes on Iran, indicate that the risk of disruptions to oil prices and supply still persists as long as the conflict remains unresolved.

In the medium term, a global supply surplus resulting from production recovery and moderating demand is expected to limit price increases. Nevertheless, any new disruptions to major trade routes could cause significant price volatility.

In light of this, the government reminds the public to continue practising prudent fuel usage through more efficient travel planning and reducing unnecessary trips to help ensure the nation’s supply remains sufficient and to ease pressure on subsidy expenditures.

Meanwhile, subsidised fuel prices have also been maintained, namely RON95 under the BUDI MADANI programme at RM1.99 per litre, BUDI MADANI diesel at RM2.10 per litre, the Subsidised Petrol Control System (SKPS) at RM2.05 per litre, and the Subsidised Diesel Control System (SKDS) at RM2.15 per litre.

The government further emphasised that a prudent approach will continue to be implemented to protect the people from the impact of oil price fluctuations, while ensuring the nation’s fuel supply remains sufficient and secure.
