KOTA KINABALU: Aug 25, 2026 — The Bayu Voices Collective will present its third vocal concert, Confluence – A Voice Recital III, on Sept 5, 2026 at the Sabah Art Gallery.
The concert showcases a fusion of Nusantara music and Western opera through vocal performances that bring together works in different languages and musical traditions, starting at 7.30pm.
The repertoire includes songs in Kadazan, Dusun, Malay, Pakpak, and Indonesian, alongside excerpts from Western operas such as La bohème, Lakmé, Semele, I vespri siciliani and The Pirates of Penzance.
The performance features nine local singers, including Gianna Wong, Maryann Magdalena Linnis, Nicole Lette Chong Wei, Avelyn Chua, Ellen Gabriela Jopitan, Aaron Low Wai Ian, Gui Foo Cheng, Mohammad Azwan Bin Azman, and the chorus The Male-Efficient.
They will be accompanied by three pianists: Euler Edwin Majanil, Debbie Robben and Marcus Khoo.
Admission is by a minimum donation of RM50, with doors opening at 7.15pm.
