PUTRAJAYA: July 29, 2026 – The Home Ministry has said that border controls will continue to be tightened, in line with the MADANI government’s stance on the entry of Israeli citizens. Strict immigration checks, law enforcement and comprehensive security assessments will be carried out to ensure that safety, sovereignty and public interests remain protected.
In a statement yesterday, the ministry said it fully supports the government’s firm position as expressed by the Prime Minister regarding Malaysia’s policy towards Israel, alongside the country’s commitment to defending the rights of the Palestinian people and safeguarding national interests.
The ministry stressed that all aspects of border control, immigration screening, law enforcement and domestic security will continue to be carried out professionally and without compromise.
The Immigration Department of Malaysia will enforce all relevant legal provisions concerning the entry of foreign nationals, including the Immigration Act 1959/1963 (Act 155), the Passport Act 1966 (Act 150), current immigration regulations, and security assessments by national security agencies.
The statement also affirmed that travel documents issued by Israel are not recognised for entry into Malaysia, consistent with the country’s policy of having no diplomatic relations with Israel.
Every application for entry by a foreign national will undergo thorough immigration screening, security vetting and risk assessment. Individuals identified as potentially compromising security, public order or national interests – including those falling under the prohibited immigrant category under Section 8 of the Immigration Act 1959/1963 – will not be permitted entry or will face legal action.
The Home Ministry explained that the management of the country’s entry points is not merely an immigration matter but forms part of an integrated national security system, implemented jointly with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), the National Security Council (MKN), the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS), and relevant enforcement agencies.
“The Home Ministry will continue to strengthen the country’s border controls through the use of technology, intelligence-sharing, risk profiling and integrated enforcement to ensure Malaysia remains safe, sovereign and free from any threats,” the statement said.
The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to implementing all government policies and decisions professionally, transparently and with integrity, in order to safeguard national security and the well-being of the people.
