KENINGAU: July 22, 2026 – Kolej Vokasional (KV) Keningau have successfully defended their rugby crown at the 2026 Sabah and Labuan Zone Vocational College Games (SUKOV), defeating KV Lahad Datu 28-0 at SMK Keningau 2 on Monday.

The defending champions extended their dominance in the zone with yet another victory, continuing a run of near-annual title defences.

The win has boosted KV Keningau’s morale as they set their sights on the national title at SUKOV 2026 in Kelantan this August. The team were runners-up at the National SUKOV 2025 in Penang and claimed the National KV Seven Series title in both 2025 and 2026.

Several squad members have also represented the Keningau district at the Sabah Schools Sports Council (MSSS) championships and the Sabah Games (SAGA) 2025, with the district emerging as champions in both competitions.

The team is managed by Nur Shiha Che Dir, Mohamad Alief Farhan Azhar and Che Hasnan Che Ismail, and receives coaching from Titanium Keningau Rugby Club, led by Nc Oneal Veneddey Vencent.

KV Keningau director Lumang Lang said he was immensely proud of the rugby team’s achievement and the college’s overall contingent.

“I am deeply proud and moved by this team’s success. This victory demonstrates the high spirit and commitment of the KV Keningau community in producing students who excel in both academics and sports,” he said.

He added that the achievement reflected the important role of sport in shaping students’ character and strengthening the spirit of teamwork within the college community.

With an outstanding record at district, regional and national levels, the team now carries high hopes of bringing home the National SUKOV 2026 championship.
