TUARAN: Sept 21, 2026 — A black Perodua Viva was seized by the Sabah Road Transport Department (JPJ) after its driver ignored an order to stop and drove recklessly while trying to flee around Jalan Tuaran.
The incident occurred during an enforcement operation by the Telipok SPK Team. Enforcement officers found that the vehicle’s driver did not stop as instructed on Sept 19.
The driver then drove recklessly and endangered other road users in an attempt to avoid arrest.
The vehicle managed to escape from the JPJ vehicle during the chase before being detected again at a house in Tuaran on the same day. JPJ seized the vehicle for further action.
Inspection found the vehicle had several other offences, including an expired Motor Vehicle Licence (LKM), no insurance coverage and no Competent Driving Licence (CDL).
Notices JPJ(P)22 and JPJ 64(1) for seizure action were issued against the vehicle.
Sabah JPJ reminded road users not to take lightly the offence of reckless driving and endangering other users.
Road users are reminded to ensure that their LKM, insurance coverage and driving licence are still valid before starting their journey.
