LABUAN: Sept 12, 2026 — A total of 20 foreign nationals were detained by the Malaysian Immigration Department (JIM) in the Federal Territory of Labuan after 215 individuals were inspected at six separate locations.
The detainees comprised 10 Indonesian men, five Filipino men, three women and two Filipino boys.
They are suspected of committing offences under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 and the Immigration Regulations 1963.
They are currently being held at the Labuan District Police Headquarters (IPD) and the Labuan Immigration Depot for investigation and further action.
Ops Mahir, Ops Kutip and Ops Bersepadu were carried out on Sept 10 from 3.30pm to 6pm and on Sept 11 from 12.30am to 3.30am, involving 41 personnel from JIM, the National Registration Department (JPN) and the Malaysian Volunteer Department (RELA).
JIM said enforcement will continue to be strengthened to curb illegal immigrants (PATI), misuse of passes and abuse of immigration facilities, including action against those who employ, shelter or assist foreigners in committing immigration offences.
