KENINGAU: July 8, 2026 – Seven students from Keningau Vocational College (KV) have brought honour to Sabah after their English-language articles were published in the digital magazine of the Indonesian educational institution STKIP PGRI Pacitan for the June/July 2026 edition.
The published pieces explore the theme of books as a means of empowering voices and driving personal change, with each student presenting their views through diverse writing styles and individual perspectives.
Jeovahan PJ Ape wrote on the role of books in shaping thought, while Jeffreyson Ng discussed the literary style of a notable writer, and Iris Sofea Irfin contributed a roundup of recommended reads.
Thiery Christian Thomas and Rachel Asri each reviewed a book of their choice and reflected on its impact on readers, while Sharianto Samden outlined practical steps for selecting and evaluating books to enhance self-directed learning.
Meanwhile, Mohd Afiq Adam produced an interview‑style piece examining the positive effects of reading habits on individuals.
According to the college, the variety of articles demonstrates the value of essay writing as a learning tool and highlights the role of journalism in sharpening critical thinking.
Keningau Vocational College Director, Lumang anak Lang, voiced his full support for the students’ initiative in applying the language skills they have acquired—not only to refine their own abilities but also to share knowledge and exchange ideas with a wider audience.
