SEOUL: Aug 11, 2026 – “Confidite, Ego Vici Mundum” has been selected as the official theme song for World Youth Day (WYD) Seoul 2027.
The song, which carries the meaning “Take Courage! I Have Overcome the World,” was launched via the official YouTube channel of WYD Seoul 2027.
It was composed by Korean musician Francis Jiyoon Kim, after being chosen from 434 entries.
The song is set to resonate among hundreds of thousands of Catholic youth expected to attend the global Catholic youth gathering in Seoul.
The theme song launch also saw the introduction of the “Breath of Life Global Tree-Planting Campaign.”
The campaign invites Catholics worldwide to plant trees as a symbol of faith and concern for the environment.
It is organised by WYD in collaboration with the Laudato Si’ Movement.
Registration for participants and volunteers is expected to open in the second half of 2026.
The President of the Local Organising Committee for WYD Seoul 2027, Archbishop Peter Soon-taick Chung, said the committee would do its utmost to make WYD Seoul 2027 a celebration full of hope.
“We want it to reflect the spirit of hospitality and solidarity of Korea and Seoul,” he said.
