KOTA KINABALU: Aug 12, 2026 – Sabah Fest 2026 will run for a month from Aug 29 to Sept 29, featuring 50 events across Sabah to showcase the state’s cultural diversity, traditions, and local community experiences.
This year’s edition coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Sabah Tourism Board (STB), further strengthening efforts to promote Sabah as a tourism destination.
Themed “Cultural Extravaganza,” the festival will embark on a tour to Sandakan, Tawau, Kudat, and Kuala Lumpur following the opening ceremony in Kota Kinabalu.
Visitors can take part in various activities including cultural performances, interactive workshops, exhibitions, and special tour packages.
STB Chairman Datuk Joniston Bangkuai said, “Sabah’s diversity is one of our greatest strengths and continues to shape the state’s appeal as a destination.”
The 50 selected events are the result of collaboration between tourism industry players, communities, businesses, and event organisers.
Sabah Fest, first introduced in 1988, continues to grow as a platform connecting communities, industry players, and visitors through cultural and tourism experiences.
