PENAMPANG: Sept 29, 2026 – A 38 year old local woman died after she was believed to have fallen from the fifth floor of a building in Donggongon yesterday.
Penampang District Police Chief Superintendent Sammy bin Newton said police received a report after the victim was found unconscious on a road behind a building at about 12.36pm.
Initial investigations found the victim suffered severe injuries and died while en route to receive treatment at Queen Elizabeth I Hospital in Kota Kinabalu at 1.05pm.
The cause of the incident is still under investigation. The case has been classified as a sudden death report (SDR), and a post-mortem will be conducted to determine the actual cause of death.
Members of the public are advised not to make any speculation or spread photos or videos related to the incident to protect the sensitivity and privacy of the victim’s family.
