KOTA KINABALU: 9 August 2026 – Three men have been arrested and six motorcycles seized in connection with several motorcycle theft cases around Keningau and Nabawan, yesterday.
The arrests were made through a follow-up operation based on intelligence gathered by the Criminal Investigation Department (BSJ) of the Kota Kinabalu District Police Headquarters (IPD), working together with the BSJ of the Keningau IPD. The operation stemmed from a police report lodged over the loss of an Aveta V13R motorcycle parked near 1Borneo, Kota Kinabalu.
Acting on information received, police detained three suspects aged between 21 and 30 in several separate operations.
Six motorcycles of various makes and models were also seized as they are believed to be linked to the motorcycle theft cases under investigation.
Preliminary questioning revealed that all suspects are believed to be connected to the criminal activity.
Police are continuing their investigations to determine the suspects’ involvement in other cases around Kota Kinabalu and surrounding areas.
The case is being investigated under Section 379A of the Penal Code.
