PENAMPANG: Sept 12, 2026 – A 22-year-old local male motorcyclist died after the motorcycle he was riding is believed to have lost control before skidding at KM1.8, Bulatan 360, Jalan Bundusan, early this morning.
In the incident at about 4.10am, the victim is believed to have been riding alone from Donggongon towards Jalan Bundusan.
While passing through the roundabout, the victim’s motorcycle is believed to have lost control before skidding.
As a result of the accident, the victim suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by medical officers.
The victim’s body was later taken to the Forensic Unit of Queen Elizabeth I Hospital for a post-mortem.
Penampang District Police Chief ASP Arisanti Aziz said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
Further investigations are still ongoing to determine the actual cause of the incident.
Police also advised all road users to always prioritise safety, comply with rules and speed limits, and increase vigilance when passing through bends and roundabouts.
