TAWAU: Aug 17, 2026 — The youth have been called upon to wisely leverage digital technology and the Internet to enliven the spirit of patriotism in conjunction with the National Month and Sabah Day.
Kalabakan Member of Parliament Andi Muhammad Suryady Bandy said that the spirit of patriotism in the digital era is also reflected through the wise and responsible use of information technology.
“The youth, as active users of digital platforms, must play a role in ensuring the Internet is utilised to spread positive content, particularly related to the spirit of independence,” he said when officiating the MADANI Community Programme for the Safe Internet Campaign X Merdeka Jalur Gemilang Convoy (KMJG) 2026 at Dewan Semai Bakti, Felda Umas, on Saturday.
He stressed that safe Internet usage is crucial to protect users from cyber threats, while also making the digital space a medium to nurture patriotism among the younger generation.
Also present were MCMC Sabah State Regional Office Senior Director Ratnawaty Talib and Sabah Information Director Jainisah Mohd Noor.
