TAMBUNAN: July 19, 2026 – A remote school in Tambunan, Sabah, has made history as the first in the state’s interior to be equipped with an iBoard – a digital whiteboard – and 35 Chromebook units, donated by the chief of the Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (PGRS) Tambunan division, Dato’ Victor P. Paut.

The contribution was handed over on Friday by Mr Ben Adner and Ms Farah, representing Dato’ Victor, for the purposes of installation and testing. The school has since extended its heartfelt thanks and appreciation for the new facilities.

The iBoard combines the functions of a television, computer and whiteboard into a single device, allowing teachers to display learning materials, play videos, browse the internet and write directly on the screen using their fingers or a digital stylus. The Chromebooks serve as supporting devices which can be connected to the iBoard simultaneously.

A spokesperson for SK Kuala Namadan said the use of the iBoard makes lessons more engaging, interactive and easier to understand. They added that the facilities were of great benefit to students in the remote area, enabling them to access higher-quality digital learning that is on a par with that available in urban schools.

When contacted, Dato’ Victor expressed his hope that the school community would make full use of the equipment, describing it as a catalyst for raising educational standards. He stressed that priority must be given to strengthening schooling in order to produce a generation that is knowledgeable, creative and technologically literate, in line with the ongoing digital transformation.
