SHAH ALAM: September 8, 2026 — Sabah’s T20 long jump athlete, Eljoe Gotuoh, secured his third consecutive Para SUKMA gold medal after winning the Men’s T20 Long Jump event at the UiTM Shah Alam Stadium.
Eljoe recorded a best jump of 7.06 metres on his sixth attempt to confirm Sabah’s gold medal.
The athlete opened his campaign with a 6.56m leap, followed by 6.95m on his second attempt. His third jump reached 7.04m.
On his fourth attempt, Eljoe recorded 6.73m, while his fifth jump was disallowed.
His final leap of 7.06m ensured Eljoe remained in first position.
Terengganu’s representative, Muhammad Aiman Ajwad bin Ali, claimed silver with a 6.70m effort, while Muhammad Haikal bin Mohd Khir from Johor took bronze with 6.62m.
Another Sabah representative, Roel Maccyilson Roland, finished seventh with a best jump of 6.33m.
The victory completed Eljoe’s three consecutive gold medals on the Para SUKMA stage.
Eljoe had previously won gold at the 2025 Virtus World Championships with a 7.01m jump.
His 7.06m performance in Selangor once again saw Eljoe surpass the seven-metre mark, adding another gold to Sabah’s tally.
