KOTA KINABALU: Oct 2, 2026 — “Don’t become victims of bullying or bullies.” That was the message from Kota Kinabalu district police headquarters (IPD) Commercial Crime Investigating Officer Insp Narendran A/L Rajenderey to 300 Form Three students of SMK Kolombong during the Safe, Healthy and Caring Generation Programme on Sept 30.

The inaugural programme was organised by the school’s Moral Education Panel. Its aim was to raise awareness on juvenile crime, online scams, bullying and adolescent health.
Two talks were held through a collaboration between the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and the Transfusion Medicine Department of Queen Elizabeth II Hospital (HQE II).

Insp Narendran reminded students to steer clear of disciplinary misconduct.

“Students need to be clear about the harmful effects of bullying on victims and the severe legal implications they will face if they choose to become perpetrators of crime,” he said.
The talks also focused on online scam tactics that increasingly target teenagers.
HQE II medical officer Dr Safini Mat Ali provided insight into the importance of blood donation in saving the lives of anaemia and cancer patients.

She explained that one bag of blood can be processed into three different components: red blood cells, plasma and platelets.
SMK Kolombong practical teacher Evan Osbent described the initiative as capable of fostering volunteerism among the next generation from their school days.

The school management will continue to monitor students’ discipline levels and strengthen awareness through regular counselling guidance activities together with parents.
