PENAMPANG: Oct 26, 2026 — Borneo Rising champion Dabra Sia plans to expand her music career to Peninsular Malaysia through a collaboration with the Rocketfuel label following her success in the Borneo Rising final.
Dabra said she wants to work with the label to produce songs with the potential to be accepted by listeners in the Peninsula.
“I will try to approach them, collaborate with them in terms of releasing songs until we have a song that can truly be accepted in the Peninsula,” she said.
Dabra is confident she has the opportunity to go further in the music industry, but acknowledges that success also depends on fate, besides effort, discipline, diligence and creativity.
“I feel I can do it, but it all depends on fate,” she said.
Looking at her plans to produce new works, Dabra said she already has a collection of songs. However, she admitted she still needs to improve her lyric-writing skills, particularly in Malay.
Dabra hopes to collaborate with well-known singers in the Peninsula to learn lyric-writing techniques, while also exploring her own ability to produce works that suit her musical identity.
