SHAH ALAM: Sept 9, 2026 — The Sabah Para tenpin bowling squad continued to steal the spotlight at the Para SUKMA XXII Selangor 2026, collecting four gold medals over two days of competition at Sunway Megalanes.
The latest gold was contributed by the pair of Azuan Amirhassan and Muhammad Azri Azman in the open doubles event with a total pinfall of 1,634.
Sabah outperformed Sarawak, who accumulated 1,606 pins, while Pahang took bronze with 1,544 pins.
Azuan contributed 641 pins, while Azri amassed 993 pins to help Sabah clinch the event.
The victory improved on their achievement at the Para SUKMA Sarawak 2024, where they won silver in the doubles event.
A day earlier, Azuan opened Sabah’s gold tally in the TPB1 Open Mixed Singles event after recording 628 pins. Teammate Rollen Marakim took bronze with 565 pins.
Azri then emerged as champion in the TPB3 Men’s Singles with 1,162 pins, outpacing Pahang’s Mohamad Hafis Mohamad Ali, who recorded 971 pins.
Muhammad Haiqal Azani completed Sabah’s three golds on the first day by winning the TPB2 Open Mixed Singles with 990 pins.
In the TPB3 Women’s Singles, Athirah Azman contributed silver with 811 pins, while Rollen added bronze in the TPB1 event.
