Man dies after believed fall from 26th floor of condominium

PENAMPANG: 11 June 2026 – A 34-year-old local man has been found dead near the lobby of a condominium in the Penampang district, believed to have fallen from the 26th floor.

According to Penampang District Police Chief Superintendent Sammy Newton, police received a report of the incident before conducting an investigation at the scene.

He said that the Penampang IPD Criminal Investigation Department, together with the D10 Forensic Team and the Sabah Contingent Police Headquarters (IPK), have found no criminal elements so far.

“The victim’s body has been sent to the Forensic Medicine Department of Queen Elizabeth I Hospital in Kota Kinabalu for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death,” he added.

The case has been classified as a Sudden Death Report (SDR) pending the results of the post-mortem and further investigation.

Police have advised the public not to speculate, which could interfere with the investigation, and to refrain from sharing images or videos of the incident out of respect for the sensitivity of the victim’s family and next of kin.
