KOTA KINABALU: Sept 5, 2026 — The Sabah International Expo 2026 (SIE2026) has drawn participation from 15 countries, with a target of up to RM10 million in sales and business transactions over its three-day run.
Deputy Chief Minister III Datuk Ewon Benedick said the participation reflects growing international business interest in Sabah.
“This international participation is a strong indicator of the increasing interest in Sabah as a destination for trade, investment and business collaboration,” he told reporters after officiating SIE2026 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) today.
SIE2026 features 300 booths, with approximately 35 per cent involving international exhibitors, including those from the BIMP-EAGA region.
Among the participating countries are Australia, Brunei, China, Denmark, Finland, India, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Poland, Singapore, Thailand and Zambia.
About 10,000 trade visitors, delegates, participants and general visitors are expected to attend the expo, which runs until Sunday.
SIE2026 also places a spotlight on the BIMP-EAGA region through the 3rd BIMP-EAGA Halal Trade, Investment and Industry Conference, which brings together some 300 delegates.
Other programmes include the Sabah International Business Luncheon Talk featuring Sunway Group Founder and Chairman Tan Sri Sir Dr Jeffrey Cheah, with about 700 participants expected.
Ewon said Sabah aims to strengthen its position as a gateway to Borneo and a link to BIMP-EAGA to open up business access to regional and international markets.
