KOTA KINABALU: Sept 14, 2026 – Hillsong Worship’s debut performance in Kota Kinabalu brought together about 3,000 people from various churches and denominations for a night of worship at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) last night.
The Hillsong Worship Nights Asia Tour 2026, which began at 8pm, was opened by Sabah singer Eylia Guntabid, giving her the opportunity to serve alongside an international worship group.

“I am very happy to be able to serve and work at a worship concert. I also gained the experience of working with an international worship group such as Hillsong. Most importantly, I had the opportunity to serve with the talent I have,” she said.
Hillsong Worship then took over with 21 songs, including Oceans, The Stand, Wake, What a Beautiful Name, I Surrender and King of Kings.
The worship atmosphere was deeply moving, with attendees of all ages, including children and senior citizens, joining in every worship song.
Attendee Desandra said the experience was meaningful to her as she faces an increasingly stressful world.

“Facing today’s world situation, which is quite stressful, I feel that through this Worship Night my faith has been refreshed and renewed. I feel so blessed, so happy and so grateful,” she said.
Another attendee, Olzie, said the night’s experience was still meaningful even though there were several songs she had never heard before.

“Every lyric strengthened me and even though there were some songs I did not know, that did not stop me from coming into God’s presence,” she said.
Besides the music performance, Hillsong Worship also held a prayer and sharing session with attendees.

The night served as a gathering for Christians from various backgrounds to come together and participate in a worship service in a deeply meaningful atmosphere.
