KUALA LUMPUR: Sept 24, 2026 – AgiBot Innovation has expressed its commitment to realising the potential of a RM1 billion investment in Malaysia by 2035, creating 5,000 job opportunities.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said this was among the outcomes of his meeting with the senior management of five Chinese industry giants.
The five companies are AgiBot Innovation, ZTE Corporation, Alibaba Group, Geely Automobile Holdings and Huawei Technologies.
He said discussions focused on exploring new investment capabilities and strategic cooperation in high-impact sectors.
These included humanoid robotics, digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence (AI), electric vehicle (EV) technology and e-commerce.
ZTE also outlined initiatives and investments worth RM170 million to drive Malaysia’s digital transformation, while creating more quality career opportunities for local talent.
In discussions with Alibaba Group, efforts to expand market access for Malaysian products were also raised.
This involved products from micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), including the country’s halal industry, into the Chinese and global markets through Alibaba’s digital ecosystem.
“The MADANI government remains committed to pioneering and attracting high-quality investments. This is to strengthen local talent capabilities and generate skilled job opportunities to drive the economic prosperity of the people and the nation,” he said in a Facebook post today.
