KOTA BELUD: Sept 17, 2026 – Two concrete bridges worth RM23.3 million in Kampung Kaung and Kampung Melangkap, in the Kadamaian state constituency, have been fully completed.
Kadamaian assemblyman Datuk Ewon Benedick said both bridges would bring major changes to economic activities and the lives of thousands of residents in Mukim Kaung and Mukim Melangkap.

“As the people’s representative in this area, I am confident these facilities will be a catalyst for economic activities and improve the people’s quality of life,” he said.
The 100-metre Kaung Concrete Bridge has an allocation of RM14.3 million, including the construction of a culvert for a tributary, and began in August 2024.
Meanwhile, the 50-metre Melangkap Concrete Bridge costs about RM9 million, began in February 2025 and was completed last August.
Ewon said this to reporters after inspecting the bridges with Sabah Public Works Department (JKR) officers, the Kota Belud District Office and the Kadamaian Community Development Leader Unit (UPPM) today.
He also expressed his appreciation to the Federal Government, particularly the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW), Sabah JKR and the implementing company for ensuring the projects were fully completed.
