PAPAR: August 13, 2026 – The Innovators of Tomorrow Challenge successfully enlivened the Papar District STEM Carnival through student involvement in producing projects and innovations based on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) at SK Kimanis here on August 12.
The programme, themed “Innovation Today, Change Tomorrow!”, was participated by six schools: SK Kimanis, SK Pekan Kimanis, SK Mandahan, SK Pekan Bongawan, SK Tampasak and SK St Mary.
The closing ceremony was officiated by the Deputy District Education Officer of Papar, Lofti Ibrahim, who emphasised the importance of innovation in shaping students who are creative, critical, daring to try, and capable of solving problems.

He said technological developments, including artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics, demand that students not only be consumers of technology but also become capable creators and innovators of the future.
Meanwhile, the organising chairman, who is also the Headmaster of SK Kimanis, Zaini Jair, said the competition served as a platform for students to apply STEM skills, produce projects, solve problems, as well as present and defend their ideas before three district expert teachers appointed as judges.
“Win or lose is not the main measure. The courage to try, present ideas and learn from experience is the real victory,” he said.
The event also helped build communication and teamwork skills, while giving students the experience of participating in district-level competitions.
