Six drug suspects held with RM16,000 worth of syabu in Kudat

KUDAT: July 8, 2026 – Police have dismantled a drug distribution operation in this district after arresting six individuals and seizing 161.49 grammes of suspected syabu, valued at approximately RM16,000, in a series of raids around Kudat.

The operation, which ran from 7pm on 6 July to 4.45am on 7 July, involved a team of officers from the Sabah Contingent Police Headquarters (IPK) raiding several locations, including Kampung Tanjong Kapor, Kampung Landung Ayang, Kampung Perpaduan, the Taman Ehsan People’s Housing Project (PPR) and Kampung Muhibbah.

Kudat District Police Chief Superintendent Mohd Haris Hj Ibrahim said all suspects and seized items had been taken to the Kudat District Police Headquarters (IPD) for further action and investigation.

He added that all suspects would be remanded to assist with inquiries, while the case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

Meanwhile, police welcomed public cooperation in channelling information to help combat drug abuse and trafficking, particularly in the Kudat district.

He said community collaboration was vital to ensuring drug-related crime could be eradicated to safeguard public safety and well-being.
