KENINGAU: June 19, 2026 – Keningau Vocational College’s (KV Keningau) netball team have once again proven their dominance after successfully defending their title at the 2026 Vocational College Games (SUKOV) Sabah and Labuan Zone, defeating KV Tawau 30-18 in the final held at SMK Keningau 2 hall on 15 June.
The victory completes a stellar run for the squad, who also clinched the gold medal at the Sabah TVET Institutions Sports Championship in Papar last May. The team now sets their sights on representing Sabah at the national-level SUKOV in Kelantan from 10 to 15 August.
KV Keningau Director, Lumang anak Lang, praised the team’s determination and consistency, noting their active participation in various open tournaments to strengthen player capabilities and skills.
He said the college consistently provides full support to athletes across all sports disciplines, aiming to cultivate students who adopt a healthy lifestyle and maintain high levels of discipline.
“Continuous participation in various tournaments gives players the opportunity to improve their performance and build confidence in facing tougher competition,” he said.
At the Sabah TVET Institutions Sports Championship, KV Keningau – making their debut appearance – secured a convincing 33-3 victory over ADTEC JTM Sandakan Campus to emerge as champions.
The team, coached by Audrey A. Bernard Ining, Arniezahrine Osman, Dg. Ku Ezzah Nur Fatihah and Saqilla Fah Ling Chin, comprises 12 core players, some of whom have previously represented Keningau district in the Sabah Games (SAGA). The district has emerged as netball champions for four consecutive editions, including in 2025.
KV Keningau player Clarinda Cherrie Eral also made history when she was selected to represent the Vocational College Sports Council (MASKOV) in the vocational colleges’ debut appearance at the 2025 Malaysia Educational Institutions Games (SIPMA) in Johor.
