KOTA KINABALU: Aug 20, 2026 — A total of 111 foreigners were detained during enforcement operations conducted by the Sabah Immigration Department in Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, and Kudat on Aug 18 and 19.
Of the 224 individuals screened, all those detained were suspected of immigration offences, including not possessing valid documents and violating permit conditions.
In Kota Kinabalu, 66 foreigners were arrested, while Sandakan recorded 27 arrests and Kudat recorded 18.
The detentions involved 104 Filipinos and seven Indonesians, including 50 children.
The Sabah Immigration Department said enforcement operations would continue to be stepped up to combat illegal immigrants.
Members of the public are urged not to harbour or employ illegal immigrants and to channel information through the department’s official channels.
