SANDAKAN: Aug 17, 2026 — Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Musa Aman inspected the progress of the Sandakan Islamic Centre construction project at Kampung Sungai Kayu, Sandakan, on Saturday.
The visit was aimed at reviewing the current status of the project, including implementation progress, work advancement, and related matters requiring attention.
Tun Musa also received a briefing from the Sandakan Islamic Centre Project Architect, Mir Zafriz Mior Zawar, on the project’s development.
The Sandakan Islamic Centre is expected to become a key facility in supporting the needs of the Muslim community, while also providing a more suitable space for various religious and community activities.
Also present were Sandakan Municipal Council President Datuk Walter Kenson, District Police Chief George Abd Rakman, as well as heads of government departments and local community leaders.
