KOTA KINABALU: June 26, 2026 – Sabah Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO) has collected 331 pints of blood across five districts in Sabah, surpassing its initial target of 300 pints during its annual donation drive.

The SEDCO Group’s 2026 Blood Donation Campaign, a corporate social responsibility initiative, concluded on Saturday at Imago Shopping Mall in Kota Kinabalu, with group managing director Datuk Ar. James Wong Kein Peng officiating at the closing ceremony.

Wong said the achievement reflected the commitment and collaborative spirit of various parties in supporting efforts to boost blood supplies.

“Our initial target was 300 pints of blood and we successfully exceeded it. This proves that when we are united, no target is impossible. Following this success, we are now setting a target of 500 pints for the next campaign,” he said.

During this year’s campaign tour, the initiative collected 70 pints in Lahad Datu, 28 pints in Tongod, 42 pints in Keningau, and 191 pints in Tawau – the highest single-location total – before concluding in Kota Kinabalu.

The programme, which has been running since 2017, is an annual CSR initiative by SEDCO aimed at helping to ensure adequate blood supplies in hospitals while raising public awareness about the importance of blood donation.

“Every pint of blood donated can give new hope to patients in need. I hope more members of the public will continue to come forward as donors,” he added.

The campaign’s success was also driven by close cooperation between SEDCO, its subsidiary companies, hospitals across Sabah, PerDarah Malaysia (the national blood donation organisation), and Imago Shopping Mall – all of which supported the tour.
