KOTA KINABALU: August 3, 2026 – Police are actively tracking a suspect involved in an indecent disturbance incident against a woman at the basketball court in Hill Top Park, Luyang, on 29 July, following a report lodged at the Luyang police station.
Acting Kota Kinabalu District Police Chief Superintendent Syed Lot Bin Syed Ab Rahman said the investigation includes reviewing CCTV footage, tracing potential witnesses and gathering intelligence information to identify the suspect as soon as possible.
“Police take this incident seriously and will not compromise on any crime that threatens public safety, especially women,” he said in a media statement.
In response, crime prevention patrols by MPV, URB and Luyang station personnel have been stepped up around Hill Top Park and public areas in Kota Kinabalu, particularly at night, to increase police presence and reassure the community.
