KENINGAU: July 10, 2026 — The head of the Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (PGRS) division for Tambunan, Datuk Victor Peter Paut, announced the launch of the “One Canopy, One Sub-District” contribution initiative for all seven sub-districts in the Tambunan district on Wednesday.
He said the contributions are aimed at easing the burden on local communities while demonstrating support for various village-level activities, including cultural programmes and religious events.
“This allocation will also help reduce the cost of organising any programme or activity within the respective sub-districts.
“We are committed to supporting the implementation of community programmes and to strengthening the spirit of togetherness and unity among the people of Tambunan,” he said in a statement here.
Victor, who is also Deputy Chairman of the Sawit Kinabalu Group and Borneo Samudera Sdn Bhd, added that although the initiative has been running since 2024, any sub-district in the area that has yet to receive its canopy contribution may contact the PGRS N39 Tambunan office during working hours.
The Tambunan district comprises seven sub-districts: Sunsuron, Kirokot, Patau, Lintuhun, Monsorulung, Nambayan and Toboh.
Together, these sub-districts encompass 77 villages across the entire Tambunan district.
