SEMPORNA: August 4, 2026 — Police have seized 329.216 kilogrammes of drugs believed to be syabu, with an estimated value of RM16.46 million, in two separate operations in Tawau and Semporna on 12 and 13 July.
Six suspects have been arrested, while cash, mobile phones, vehicles and various other items believed to be linked to drug trafficking activities were also confiscated.
The operation was carried out by the Sabah Contingent Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department.
The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
According to the Sabah Narcotics CID, investigations are continuing to identify the masterminds and the syndicate network involved.
The department said it would continue to step up enforcement efforts against drug trafficking to protect the community from the threat of narcotics-related crime.
