SANDAKAN: Sept 10, 2026 – The Sabah Region 4 Marine Police Force (PPM) arrested two men and seized about 28,000 litres of diesel suspected to have been misappropriated in an operation at a jetty in Sandakan yesterday.

The 3.55pm operation was mounted after the PPM received a public tip-off and detected a tanker lorry suspected to be involved in transferring diesel from a cargo ship.

The two men, aged 25 and 28, were detained after they failed to produce documents related to the source of the diesel supply from a legitimate supplier.

Besides the diesel, the PPM also seized a steel cargo ship, a Nissan Diesel tanker lorry with a 15,000-litre capacity and several pieces of equipment believed to have been used in the activity.
