PENAMPANG: Aug 27, 2026 – The Sembang Santai Kampung Koidupan programme has received an encouraging response through its Basic Makeup and Grooming Workshop, offering women, youth and single mothers the opportunity to acquire new skills.
Stefania Richard, Chairperson of the MADANI Community for Kg. Koidupan, welcomed the initiative organised by the Penampang District Information Office in collaboration with the Community Development Department (KEMAS).
She said the programme demonstrates that government information delivery platforms are now more flexible and inclusive, while also empowering grassroots community skills.
“Through demonstration sessions conducted by KEMAS instructors, participants were exposed to daily makeup techniques, suitable product selection and guidance on maintaining a well-groomed appearance.
“Practical skills like these not only boost self-confidence but also have the potential to generate supplementary income if pursued seriously,” she told the media at the programme on Tuesday.
The programme also involved the distribution of official publications, sharing of current issues and casual dialogue sessions with local residents.
Also present were Penampang District Information Officer Norhafiezah Abd Aziz and KEMAS instructor Nurhafiza Tahir.
