SIPITANG: August 8, 2026 – The Langkah Jiwa Merdeka programme held in conjunction with the Sipitang District-level Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang (KMJG) 2026 has enlivened the spirit of patriotism through the participation of various agencies and the local community.
Sipitang District Officer, Abd Karim M. Zahari, said the walking convoy which began at the Sipitang District Office also served to strengthen the 1 House 1 Jalur Gemilang (1R1JG) campaign.
“The convoy passed several locations including the Sipitang Native Court (MAN), Pos Malaysia Sipitang branch, Sabah State Library Sipitang branch, KEMAS Sipitang, SJK(C) Chung Hwa Sipitang before concluding at the Sipitang District Council.
“This symbolises the collective commitment between government agencies, educational institutions, and the community in enlivening the National Month celebration, Sabah Day, and the Flag Flying Campaign 2026,” he said.
He said this when officiating the programme here on Friday.
According to him, the programme aims to encourage the community to fly the Jalur Gemilang at homes, government offices, business premises, and educational institutions as a sign of love for the country.
He added that the outreach programme also serves as a platform to disseminate government policy information while strengthening ties with the local community.
The district-level celebration will culminate on August 22 at Kampung Mendulong, in collaboration with the Sipitang District Information Office, Komuniti MADANI, and government agencies.
