KOTA KINABALU: 13 June 2026 – The government’s commitment to empowering women as a pillar of the family, community and nation was reinforced on Saturday through the “MADANI Steps Together Programme: Faithful Women, Resilient Women” at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC).

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim officially launched the programme, reflecting his administration’s dedication to women’s development by strengthening spiritual values, emotional well-being and personal resilience.

The event, organised by the office of the Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), brought together thousands of women from across Sabah. Its content was based on MADANI values, including a talk show themed “The Art of Managing Trials with Rahmah” and “Faithful Women, Resilient Women”.

A special keynote address by Marhamah Rosli was a highlight, emphasising women’s role in building a prosperous and resilient society capable of facing current challenges.

The programme also provided an interactive space for participants to share experiences, challenges and life inspirations, while strengthening support networks among women in the state.

In line with the theme, emphasis was placed on spiritual reinforcement and building a community of women who support each other in facing life’s difficulties.

Also present were Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor and Deputy Human Resources Minister Datuk Mustapha Sakmud, along with federal and state government leaders.

The government said it hopes more women will continue to be given opportunities to empower themselves, build inner strength, and play a key role in nurturing prosperous families towards achieving the Malaysia MADANI vision.
