TAWAU: Okt 17, 2026 – A 19-year-old foreign man was killed in an accident involving a Honda FS150 motorcycle and a Perodua Axia car at Batu 3½, Jalan Apas, Tawau, yesterday.
Tawau District Police Chief ACP Rosdi bin Mat Jusoh said preliminary investigations found that the accident occurred when the car, driven by a 31-year-old local woman, was making a U-turn before the motorcycle crashed into the left side of the vehicle.
The motorcyclist sustained severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The car driver was unhurt.
Checks found that the motorcyclist did not possess a valid driving licence. Further investigations are ongoing to determine the actual cause of the accident.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
