PENAMPANG: Nov 8, 2026 – A 39-year-old man died after the motorcycle he was riding skidded and crashed into a road barrier along Jalan Pan Borneo near Kampung Tanaki, Penampang, on the night of November 6.
The incident occurred at approximately 8.34pm while the victim was travelling from Putatan towards Inobong before he is believed to have lost control of the motorcycle and skidded.
The victim sustained severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was later sent to Queen Elizabeth I Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Acting Penampang District Police Chief ASP Arisanti Aziz said further investigations are ongoing under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
“Members of the public with information on the incident are urged to contact the investigating officer, Inspector Saparia Ladoni, at 019-809 5133,” she said.
Police also advised road users to remain cautious, especially when passing through road construction areas at night.
