TUARAN: Oct 11, 2026 — A classical vocal recital titled “Between Breath & Keys: Classical Voice Recital”, organised by Fortissimo Music Studio, was held at Fortissimo Music Studio here yesterday.

The 90-minute performance featured Rhowell Rolland as countertenor, Euler Edwin Majanil on piano, Nathalia Athena as mezzo-soprano and Aamanda Pearl as soprano.
Throughout the concert, the artistes performed a repertoire of Western classical works in various languages, including Italian, German, French, Latin, English, Indonesian and Tagalog.

Among the works performed were Caro Mio Ben, An Die Musik, L’heure Exquise, Ave Maria, Voi Che Sapete, Frühlingsglaube, Lagu Biasa, Derita, Canto Funebre, Aba Ginoong Maria, Rejoice Greatly, L’amour est un oiseau rebelle, Der Holle Rache and Exsultate Jubilate.
According to the organisers, the recital was held to introduce classical singing technique and the art form to a wider listening audience in Sabah. They hoped the technique could be applied to other singing genres.
On the backgrounds of the artistes, Rhowell Rolland is the principal and a teacher at Fortissimo Music Studio, Tuaran. He holds a Diploma in Music from ASWARA and a Bachelor of Music from Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS).

Euler Edwin Majanil is a pianist and composer from Kota Kinabalu. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Composition and a Master of Music in Performance (Piano).
Nathalia Athena is a young artiste from Kota Kinabalu who is active in various genres, including classical, jazz and contemporary. She has won first place at the KK Jazz Festival 2026 and the World Youth Singing Competition 2025.

Her fellow performer, Aamanda Pearl, 23, is a soprano from Sabah who began taking vocal lessons at the age of 15. She is currently pursuing studies in Aquaculture Science.
