SEPANG: Sept 17, 2026 — A total of 173 undocumented migrants were detained by the Immigration Department of Malaysia (JIM) Putrajaya in a raid at an aircraft hangar construction site, warehouse bay and aircraft engine testing facility in Sepang yesterday.
They were working using Foreign Worker Temporary Visit Passes (PLKS) belonging to other companies and abusing social visit passes to evade the authorities.
The detainees comprised 147 Bangladeshi men, 17 Indonesian men and nine Pakistani men aged between 23 and 40, out of 261 individuals inspected, involving 217 foreigners and 44 locals.
The raid on Sept 15 was carried out following public complaints and a week-long intelligence operation involving 88 officers of various ranks.
Five Form 29 notices (summons to witnesses) were also issued to Malaysian citizens to assist investigations.
All detainees are believed to have committed offences under the Immigration Act 1959/63 and Regulation 39(b) of the Immigration Regulations 1963. They were taken to the KLIA Immigration Detention Depot for investigation and further action.
JIM said enforcement also covers the construction, logistics and aviation industry support facility sectors, including action against those who employ or harbour undocumented migrants.
