KENINGAU:, July 12, 2026 – Keningau Vocational College (KV Keningau) has emerged as the overall champion of the 2026 KV Skills Competition for the Sabah and Federal Territory of Labuan Zone for the fourth consecutive year, after securing eight gold medals, three silver medals, three bronze medals and one Golden Hand Award at the competition, which took place in Tawau from 7 to 9 July.
The achievement was driven by the outstanding performance of KV Keningau participants across a range of skill categories, including business management, beauty therapy, bakery and pastry, culinary arts, automotive technology, floor and wall tiling, drawing and decoration, and early childhood education.
The most notable success came in the business management category, where Nur Syaidattul Akma emerged as champion. She was also honoured with the Golden Hand Award – a special recognition given to the participant who demonstrated the highest level of skill and performance throughout the competition.
In addition, gold medals were won by Nurul Syuhadah Mohd Wafi (beauty therapy), Nurul Fitriyani Izwani Abdul Mutalip (bakery and pastry), Robinsons Gilbert (culinary arts), Raeny Cawagdan (automotive technology), Joshua Alexod (floor and wall tiling), Wester Westin (drawing and decoration), and Alencia Rachelistha Harry (early childhood education).

KV Keningau also claimed three silver medals through Deona Deney (beauty therapy), Aleysha Irdina Nazim (early childhood education) and Daphnie Limly Abdullah (bricklaying), while three bronze medals were contributed by Aidelbert Lim Hiew Yang (culinary arts), Mohamad Firdaus M. Haris (electrical installation) and Jennifer Joseph (business management).
The 2026 KV Skills Competition for the Sabah and Federal Territory of Labuan Zone involved the participation of nine vocational colleges from the zone, with the winners of each category earning the right to represent the zone at the national-level KV Skills competition.
KV Keningau Director, Lumang anak Lang, said the success proved that vocational skills required discipline, perseverance and intensive training to master.
“Vocational college education prioritises the quality of training to produce graduates who are experts in their chosen fields,” he added.
