KOTA BELUD: June 30, 2026 – Three local men in their 30s have been arrested for possessing syabu (crystal methamphetamine) during an operation conducted on the Kota Belud–Tuaran road near Kampung Paka-Paka this morning.
The operation was led by Kota Belud Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division chief Inspector Mohd Firdaus Che Mustafa, together with four traffic division officers and one narcotics officer from the Kota Belud district police headquarters.
A search uncovered syabu stored in a black sling bag belonging to one of the suspects.
Urine tests confirmed all three tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine.
All suspects have been handed over to the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division of the Kota Belud district police for further action.
The case is being investigated under Section 12(3) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
