KENINGAU: June , 2026 – A Form Five special-needs student from Keningau Vocational College (KV) made headlines by breaking four championship records and winning four gold medals at the Sabah/Labuan Zone Vocational College Games (SUKOV), held at the Keningau Sports Complex on 15 and 16 June.
Young athlete Renoddry Remey dominated the sprint events, winning gold in the 200 metres, 400 metres, 4×100-metre relay and 4×400-metre relay – demonstrating his extraordinary ability on the track.
He set two new championship records on the first day of competition, winning the 200 metres in 22.85 seconds and the 400 metres in 51.88 seconds in finals held on the same day.

He continued his excellence the following day, helping KV Keningau set new records in the 4×100-metre relay with a time of 44.53 seconds and the 4×400-metre relay in 3 minutes 36 seconds, completing a clean sweep of the sprint events.

A week after SUKOV, Renoddry maintained his fine form by winning three gold medals and one silver at the Keningau District Schools Sports Council (MSSD) athletics championships. In that competition, he also set a personal best in the 400 metres with a time of 50.80 seconds.
Following these achievements, Renoddry has been selected to represent the Sabah/Labuan zone at the national SUKOV championships, scheduled to take place in Kelantan in August.
KV Keningau director Lumang anak Lang expressed pride in the young athlete and the entire team, who demonstrated discipline and high commitment throughout training and the competitions.
He said the success proved the effectiveness of the college’s Special Integration Education Programme (PPKI) in providing an inclusive and conducive learning and training environment, capable of honing the potential of special-needs students to the highest level.
