KOTA KINABALU: 19 June 2026 — POIC Sabah Sdn Bhd has reinforced its commitment to integrity and governance after all its employees recited the Corruption-Free Pledge (IBR) at a ceremony held at the POIC Group Headquarters, yesterday.
Its Chairman, Datuk Seri Panglima Wilfred Madius Tangau, said the pledge symbolises a collective awareness that corruption poses a threat to development, justice, and future generations.
He stressed that a culture of integrity must be cultivated continuously through clear policies and leadership that sets a good example. “This pledge reflects our shared understanding that corruption is a real threat, and it affirms that integrity must be nurtured through clear policies and leadership grounded in exemplary conduct,” he said.
Madius noted that corrupt practices extend beyond cash bribes, encompassing the giving of undue gifts, the misuse of confidential information, and actions that confer unfair advantages. He also urged staff to have the courage to report any suspicious activities through the proper channels.
Earlier, employees attended a briefing on Corporate Liability under Section 17(A) of the MACC Act 2009, delivered by Deputy Director (Prevention) of MACC Sabah, Senior Assistant Commissioner Alexander S. Kunghi, to raise awareness of corporate responsibility and compliance.
The ceremony also featured the signing of the Corruption-Free Pledge Certificate by Madius and Group Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Fredian Gan, witnessed by Mohd Fuad Bee, before the certificate was presented to MACC Sabah as a symbol of POIC’s commitment.
Also present were MACC Sabah Director, Datuk Deputy Commissioner Mohd Fuad Bee Haji Basrah; Deputy Chairman of the POIC Sabah Group Board of Directors, Dato’ Dr Janathan Kandok; as well as board members and senior management of the company. Madius expressed his appreciation to MACC Sabah for their cooperation and knowledge-sharing, and expressed hope that the good relationship between both parties would continue to be strengthened in order to foster a culture of integrity within the organisation.
