SEMPORNA: Oct 24, 2026 — The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Semporna Branch received three case handovers involving the seizure of petrol, diesel and controlled goods worth a total of RM20,046.30 on 22 October.
The handovers from the 22nd Battalion of the General Operations Force (PGA) Kunak and the Semporna Marine Police Force (PPM) involved 455 litres of petrol, approximately 3,500 litres of diesel, 57 kilogrammes of packet cooking oil and two cylinders of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
The first handover, in the southern waters of Boheayan, saw the authorities seize 180 litres of petrol, 57 kilogrammes of packet cooking oil, two LPG cylinders and boat equipment. Two individuals were remanded to assist in investigations.
The second handover involved the seizure of 275 litres of petrol with no owner present (RTT), found in the Jeti Umum area of Semporna.
The third handover involved approximately 3,500 litres of diesel found in the tank of a boat in the waters off Kampung Halo, Semporna, along with a wooden boat, engine and related equipment.
Following this, KPDN Semporna opened three investigation papers under Section 21 of the Control of Supplies Act 1961 for further action.
KPDN also warned individuals and companies to comply with laws related to supply control. Action can be taken against any party found to have committed an offence.
