KOTA KINABALU: Oct 8, 2026 – A total of 36 individuals received their appointment letters as Sabah Maju Jaya 5.0 (SMJ 5.0) Fellows for 2026 at the Banquet Hall, Kinabalu Tower, on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Hajiji Noor said the selection of participants was not merely participation in a programme, but a mark of trust, responsibility and an investment in Sabah’s future.
“The participants were selected because the State Government sees their potential and talent to be at the forefront of decision-making, leading organisations, driving the economy and determining the direction of the state,” he said when officiating the ceremony.
Hajiji said the SMJ 5.0 Fellows must serve as a platform for preparing themselves as a generation that will bring Sabah forward, while enhancing their maturity, confidence, wider networks and ability to contribute to the state.
He said the State Government appreciated the commitment of government-linked companies (GLCs) in opening up opportunities for exposure to the world of management, administration and corporate affairs.
“We want the human capital development of Sabahans to be a key commitment of GLCs, not merely a programme or corporate social responsibility,” he said.
