KUALA LUMPUR: Oct 5, 2026 — A total of 3,025 new trainees have been offered places in pre-service programmes at the Ministry of Health Training Institute (ILKKM) for the October 2026 session, covering 10 diploma programmes and one certificate programme.
Of the total, 2,995 offers were made through the Public Services Commission (SPA), while 30 were through statutory bodies, equivalent to 90.7 per cent of the total 3,335 quota provided by the Ministry of Health (MoH).
A total of 2,961 trainees were offered three-year diploma-level programmes, while 64 received offers for the two-year Certificate in Dental Surgery Assistant programme.
The Diploma in Nursing recorded the highest intake, with 1,818 candidates offered training for the session.
The MoH provides 3,000 Diploma in Nursing places annually, with 1,500 places for each intake session.
The intake is part of the MoH’s efforts to prepare a competent healthcare workforce to meet the country’s healthcare service needs over the next two to three years.
Throughout the training period, trainees will undergo theoretical learning, practical training and clinical exposure, with emphasis on patient safety, professional skills and delivery of quality services.
Trainees will also be exposed to the values of integrity, discipline, professionalism and teamwork as preparation before entering the healthcare service.
Graduates who complete their training will have opportunities to contribute in various fields, including nursing, medicine and health, pharmacy, diagnostics, rehabilitation and dentistry.
The MoH also appreciates the support of parents and guardians in helping trainees adapt and successfully complete their training at ILKKM.
