AICHI, JAPAN: Sept 23, 2026 – Malaysia’s Men’s Team Kata squad won bronze at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games through Mohamad Haznil Henry, Mukhriz Mazlan and Muhammad Aiqal Asmadie.
The trio competed at the Toyohashi City General Gymnasium. Malaysia lost 0-5 to Kuwait in the semi-finals but bounced back to defeat Vietnam in the bronze-medal playoff.
For Sabah, the contributions of Haznil and Mukhriz demonstrated the ability of state athletes to compete at the Asian level.
The medal added to Malaysia’s karate haul after two bronzes on 20 September, before Adeola Fay Robert delivered the country’s first gold on 22 September.
