LONDON: Sept 10, 2026 — Chelsea came from 0-2 down to beat Leeds United 6-3 at Stamford Bridge, advancing to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup early this morning.
Leeds opened the scoring through Tarik Muharemović in the 23rd minute before Brenden Aaronson doubled their lead in the 48th.
Chelsea then hit back through two Cole Palmer goals in the 53rd and 55th minutes to level at 2-2.
Pedro Neto put Chelsea ahead 3-2 in the 60th minute before Danny Welbeck made it 4-2 five minutes later.
Leeds narrowed the gap through Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the 75th minute, but Valentín Barco added Chelsea’s fifth five minutes later.
Welbeck completed Chelsea’s victory with his second goal in injury time.
Rogers was the catalyst for Chelsea’s revival after being introduced in the second half, recording four assists.
Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso admitted his team have yet to reach their best level after making nine changes to the starting line-up.
Meanwhile, Leeds manager Daniel Farke was disappointed after his team failed to hold on to their two-goal lead.
