KOTA KINABALU: August 19, 2026 – Sadri Masrani, 34, the runner-up of the Sabah Sugandoi 2026 state-level competition, has stepped into a new phase in his artistic career with the release of his debut single titled ‘Izou Nosinduahan’.
The Pitas-born singer, who also serves as a firefighter, described the production of the track as a significant achievement as it marks his first single since venturing into singing.
Interestingly, ‘Izou Nosinduahan’ was given as a prize for his victory at the Sabah Sugandoi 2026 stage, rather than being chosen by Sadri himself.
“This song was given as the winning prize at this year’s Sabah Sugandoi 2026,” he said.
The song was fully produced by composer Nick Tudol and recorded at Magus8 Studio, while Sadri delivered it with his own interpretation.

“This is my first single. What makes it different is probably because it’s my own song, and not me singing someone else’s song anymore,” he said.
According to Sadri, although the story conveyed in the song is not his personal experience, he is confident that many listeners have gone through similar situations or feelings.
The production of the single is a continuation of Sadri’s Sugandoi journey, which began in 2023. He then clinched the runner-up title in Kota Marudu in 2024, before placing sixth in 2025.
This year marks his best achievement yet after being crowned the Penampang District Sugandoi champion and subsequently emerging as the state-level runner-up.
As a Sugandoi-born artist, Sadri wants to continue producing works that reflect Sabah’s identity.
“I will try to produce works that are distinctly Sabahan, fostering love and appreciation for the ethnic groups, races and communities in Sabah through my singing,” he said.
‘Izou Nosinduahan’ is now available on Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube.
